Getting Ready For Our Trunk Show
We’re having a trunk show at Ferdinand this Friday! Yesterday we started setting up the window display. Will try to get better photos of the window later this week.
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Last night Noah set up a projector in Darby’s room and we watched Fantastic Mr. Fox. I loved the retro, hand crafted look. The artwork, the costumes, the attention to detail, it was all so amazing. I didn’t want it to end.
Jiaozi
Noah decided to make jiaozi (Chinese dumplings) for me last night. Darby and I are unable to eat many of our favorite dishes due to our food allergies, and Noah knows how much I miss jiaozi. We had to call my parents 4 times to make sure we were doing everything right. Then Noah substituted a few ingredients and voila! Delicious wheat free dumplings.
Noah is rolling out the dough while I wrap...
Is It Spring?
We’ve been spending a great deal of time outdoors lately. A few days ago we decided to go to Crescent Beach in Scarborough. It was a short hike through the woods and then we took our shoes off and walked barefoot on the beach. The next day we played baseball in the park and flew a kite. In the evening we grilled burgers in the backyard. We’ve been so lucky to have had such a mild...
Donna Wilson
I love this plate and tea towel by Donna Wilson. And I might have to treat myself and buy her book, The Knitted Odd-Bod Bunch, which has 35 patterns of strange creatures I’m dying to knit.

I had no idea France was still guillotining people as recently as 1977 - I thought that was like a 1789 kind of thing. Nobody tell Texas.
New From Pinecone+Chickadee!
Our new stuff is finally up on the site! Our popular robot print is now for kids and men, our cyclops print is now for kids, and our blue owl print is now for baby. We also have a brand new tiger print for both men and women, and all new card designs. Yay!
Pizza!
I went out a few nights ago with a group of girlfriends. My poison that night was basil lemonade (with vodka), and boy was it was delicious. While I was out, Noah and Darby made a wacky pizza just for boys. It was topped with macaroni and cheese with broccoli, pickles, pepperoni, olives, and topped with an egg. Here are some pics.
Right before it went in the oven.
All cooked and ready to...
48 Hours
Noah’s playing tonight at Space for the 48 Hours Music Festival. In case you haven’t seen the movie or were lucky enough to catch last year’s inaugural festival, here’s the lowdown… 25 musicians meet, names are pulled out of a hat to form bands, they are given 48 hours to put together a 25 minute set then perform at the end of said 48 hours. This show is going to sell...
New Press (Well, Newish)
Pinecone+Chickadee was mentioned in Maine Magazine last month. I’m just now getting to posting it, click here. I love reading this magazine because inevitably someone you know from around town is featured in any given issue.
Incidentally, I was reading the newest issue when I stumbled on an article on Vince Clarke. Vince Clarke! Yes, Vince Clarke of Erasure, Yaz, and Depeche Mode. Well, he...
