Zombies!
As a huge fan of post apocalyptic sci-fi novels (I just finished reading The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. It was a quick read, but almost too sad to finish), I was pleasantly surprised by the new AMC series, The Walking Dead. Noah and I just finished watching season one, out now on DVD. It’s actually about a zombie apocalypse, but what draws me to the series is the ongoing story of the survivors in the weeks and months that follow. While I’m not a horror or zombie enthusiast, I will admit I have enjoyed a few zombie movies in the past…28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, and of course, Sean of the Dead. Oh, and once I played a zombie getting my head blown off in a friend’s low budget movie.
